urgh, what an awful deja vu

Mouse acceleration was disabled I think. Try setting m_noaccel 0.

edit: wait that didn't seem to work for me, I'll look into it..

e2:
Quote from: b36
Cvar: m_noaccel - Replaces the old "m_xp" cvar and disables mouse acceleration for all versions of windows.  Windows 7 had it enabled by default (yuck). 10:03 PM 9/7/2012
Quote from: b37
- Tweak: Switched mouse turn variables to floating point for better turning precision. 9:49 PM 10/5/2012
- Cvar: "m_fovscale" - If enabled, scales the mouse turn speed based on your FOV.  At 90 degrees there is no difference, if you zoom in or out, you will turn slower or faster, respectively.  Set to 0 to disable.

Can't help you more than this.

Help and Support / Re: demo to youtube

Try using a higher bitrate when compressing your video. For a 720p video I'd suggest 6000Kbit/s, which is 44MB per minute.

Ok, I was assuming you hadn't tried them out, and yeah wrong topic to blab about it.

The biggest one for me being the fact that you can't slide any more without holding space (hate this so much).

You said you have more issues than this, but jitspoe has actually fixed this problem in particular. He did several changes to B33 physics where I assume you stopped testing, so try the b35+ physics out and see if they still annoy you. The difference isn't drastic like it used to be.

Paintball 2 Discussion / Re: DEMO for various types of jumps
« on: September 14, 2012, 12:45:34 AM »
I made one for you, but the pace is quite slow :( . I'd redo it if it didn't take so long to make.

map: jump/dopjump
length: I don't remember, but over 12 minutes
jumps: circlejump, strafe jumping although indirectly, doublejump, ramp jump, accelerating on ice

General Development / Re: Paintball2 Patch to remove pinging messages.
« on: August 10, 2012, 05:17:36 PM »
The example in my reply to jimmy's comment was pretty off topic. You're guilty of trying to force jitspoe into a corner by publicly talking badly about his current cheat detection, and by partially exposing some of the holes you've found so that other people with your skills could do the same thing unless jitspoe changes his schedule and does what you wish him to.

You might think that it's for the best if jitspoe just took time to work on his cheat detection, but it really isn't if he doesn't feel up to it. He might lose his motivation on the game in general if he's forced to work on stuff he's not interested in.

The moral behind this all is that you should respect jitspoe's position and the rights that position gives him. He has the right to ultimately choose how he uses his time when dealing with this game, and the only thing anyone of us here can do about that is to express our opinion for him to consider, which he does.

Your situation sucks, but don't look at it as if it's been a wasted effort since you managed to motivate yourself into learning something.
I won't be replying to your posts anymore until you're unbanned, to make it easier for you to respect the ban.

(edit: If you're wondering why I didn't mention the fact that you've tried to do the improvements for him, it's because I already mentioned the lack of trust in my previous post.)

So should i send cheating instructions to people privately? No problem. </joke>
Well, Jitspoe doesn't really seem to be interested in those information so why can't i publish those. I understand your point, but it depends if I'm still in interested in helping or maybe i want to ruin. No clear idea now.

(NVM my special nick, trolling is fun. Sorry Jitspoe if you thought that range ban stop me).

If the current you is capable of being driven into ruining jitspoe's game on purpose, can you blame him for not trusting you with taking care of the cheat detection? I mean, if the dealbreaker was a lack of trust, you can't say he had the wrong image of (the current) you.

Let's say you were cloned.. Would you trust your clone with taking care of stuff like cheat detection? Is he the dependable guy who you know wouldn't get back at you by sabotaging his work even if he felt momentary anger towards you for some happening in the future?

If nobody wanted to learn about cheating, there would not be any use for PAC. Think about it...

If you're referring to that as a tactic used to force someone into doing what you say, I'm well aware :( . In one game that I was recently playing, there was a guy who thought it would quicken the process of developers fixing a huge glitch if he made EVERYONE know how to use the glitch to their advantage. So he went around from server to server, instructing everyone on how to duplicate in-game items. The economy went down the drain, finding rare items didn't feel as awesome anymore which was the main point of the game, and lots of people quit as a result. It's the most ignorant and harmful way I can think of to get things done.

payl, could you please stop explaining what you do? The hints you give are huge, and if I had any interest in programming and cheating in multiplayer games, your comments would motivate me to invest time in doing that. IF you gave no information at all, that wouldn't happen because you wouldn't actually make the tedious "where the hell do I start?" process any easier.

Also, don't say a word about jitspoe's cheat detection either. Nothing good comes out of it.

I'd be willing to do something about that, but I'd need to ask superman for admin priviledges first.

You might have played one of these:
- propaint1
- remenissions
- carpathian

There's a bunch of other maps too, but those are fairly probable.

There were two guys with that name playing in the server, but I only noticed that while I was fetching the server IP through the serverbrowser.

Ic3y, are you tracking stats or not? I don't want to take chances.

Paintball 2 Discussion / I've decided to play in pubs without aliases
« on: July 06, 2012, 08:56:14 AM »
This is worth saying out loud since I've been a regular to this game for years, and only in the first year did I ever pub with a consistent name.

I've been using aliases because:

- I'm a perfectionist, so any ranking system that can't be overwritten will weigh down on my enjoyment
- I don't like to be subjected to flaming regarding my gameplay (I wish it didn't matter to others how I played)
- My accuracy and gameplay in general are highly inconsistent. After a few high's, some people are undoubtedly going to be annoyed by me, and will definitely take advantage of my low's to talk crap
- I don't want to find out whether I'm better than someone at shooting or not, so I wanted to avoid that and all similar subjects. This is because I rarely pub to win, I mainly pub to do stunts and kill annoying people

I'm letting go of aliases because:

- It sometimes hinders me from saying relevant stuff
- I think that people like knowing who they're playing against
- I finally believe that the positives outweigh the negatives

I'd like to know what pubs record stats so that I could avoid those.

Oh and I'm not going to reply to any guesses as to what names I've used, so don't bother.

Official Feature Votes / Re: player spawn protection
« on: June 24, 2012, 04:42:11 AM »
My current idea is this:

-If you are killed before 1.2 seconds have passed, your killer won't get a point.
-Spawnkills play a short negative sound for the killer instead of the normal death sounds.

and if that's not enough:

-If you are killed before 0.2 seconds have passed, your death won't count as a death.

and if THAT's not enough:

-If you are spawnkilled, spawning time is halved.

I would have clicked your link if you had gone into a little more detail regarding "pyramid competition" :(

Clans, Matches, and Tournaments / Re: match scene diminishing
« on: May 06, 2012, 05:10:22 AM »
People that tries to help you should have access to things they need to. Let me give you my example, PAC of course: It is working even without your help. It doesn't need great modifications to make it run within paintball. I've put much effort to make it. But even so, you don't seem to care about it, nor about things that could be used to improve your anticheat (i sent you PM about my utility program some time ago, never got any response about that).

- Does PAC still get detected by antivirus software more frequently than PB2 does?
- Are you the person who would be in charge of looking at the logs of PAC?
- Does PAC require players to set it up if it was adopted into PB2?
- Can jitspoe actually work on PAC himself, or does he require you to do all the updating if someone happened to make an undetectable cheat to it? What would jitspoe do if you suddenly stopped caring about updating PAC?

I don't know how much has been resolved, but those are the things that can make PAC a not so worthwhile investment for jitspoe.
