Map Graveyard / new map "skate relived"
« on: July 10, 2006, 10:04:31 AM »
hey guys

A few years ago I released a map called skate which suprisenly some people liked. So I decided to created a bigger and better skate map called skate relived. It has the same features as my origonal map but more developed. Jail is ontop of the building with a glass roof to look down at the action. Single flag setup and you score the same way as the origonal map.

Screen shots can be seen here
http://drdapoo.arena-zone.com./

Download skate2.bsp if your interested.

P.S. I finished compiling an updated verson of skate relived not 10 minutes before this post, so if you have a copy of the old skate relived delete it and download the updated verson =)

Peace

I uploaded all the textures I have into the site. Just unzip the textures into your pball folder.

There the stock textures that come with DP2. I dont know why you dont have them. Could it be that the textures are linked to a diffrent folder in your DP folder, and causing you not being able to see them?

Hey Jitspoe cant you have a serverside cheat checking script like what some counterstrike servers use? Granted you wont be able to prevent cheating client side because people will be able to bypass it but if you had a server check the values of known cheats then shouldnt that work?

I expanded on my map and added a jail and a glass dome. Updated screenshots on the site above.
Feedback welcome by all.

That sounds like a good idea. Something like what Steam does. Hey if you do it in VB.net or in Java I could try and help out. But im mostly a OpenGL programmer not a network programmer. Besides I dont even know C+. Wouldnt even know where to start.

Map Graveyard / Update - Skate map
« on: January 04, 2005, 05:46:15 PM »
Hey guys. For kicks I made a skating type (more like sliding) map with jumps and stuff like a skate park. Ive been making these types of maps sence the early early days for quake 2 to have fun with and to slide around and see how high and far you can go. This is not a realistic man, if you are expecting realism you came to the wrong place. This map is ment to get air and fly around without getting shot. Ment for the 3d player in mind :P. Ne way the object of the game get the center flag and touch the bottom of the platform at the oposite side of the map. Screenshots and map are located here http://www.geocities.com/drdapoo/.

Hey guys, im a new DP mapper but a long time DP player. I have a question about creating starting points for players on a map. What do I use to make a group of red team members start at one spot and a group of blue players start at another point? Better yet what values do I use in Quark to set this up?

Peace

PS: Also what type of maps do people like, Big open maps or small close up maps?
