Define lag. Graphical lag? Network lag?

If its Graphical:

Bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), click on the "processes" tab and see what is taking up allot of memory and/or CPU.

If that doesn't get any results, you could try messing around with your video card settings. Put everything on "low" (or "Performance") and see if that does anything. Also, you might want to update/rollback your video card drivers.

So, network lag?

Go to console, and type in netgraph 1. The graph that ensues from that command at the bottom of your window should show your network is doing. If you're experience no network lag, the bars should be very short, and there should be no black lines.
