Question-- does that water take fresnel into account?

You haven't actually seen it in action though -- just screenshots. It looks better when it's animated, trust me. :D Plus water won't be all there is to see. ;) And yes, Fresnel is taken into account. Look at the first shot -- see how you can see the crate up close clearly, but the water near the shore is almost completely reflective? I faked it a little bit because a true Fresnel equation made it too hard to see though the water

Ah. Well, will there be an option to turn the reflectiveness off? Mapside? Clientside?

Of course. Older video cards wouldn't even be able to handle it anyway.

That's fantastic! I guess with this mod you can now do reflective glass??

Reflective glass would be too slow. With water, there's usually just one surface. With glass, though? Lots of re-renders would be required. The best thing to do there is have the mapper create a cubemap and apply that--not realtime, but it should work for a subtle effect.

How bout just entities can be reset at round start?
EDIT: If the new gametype is DM koth, or get the guy with the flag, people will die.

I havent been here for ages got side tracked by work, I used to post as TEKNIKAL or Tekkie-X I forgot which it was a long time ago.

All you need now it Doom3 style lighting shadows and ragdoll physics and youre all set...j/k

Nah, doom3 lighting/shadows are slow and ugly. I have... better things in mind. ;)

look really good. But still, i'm more of an object type guy. I like new things (textures, items, etc.) It'd be nice to play with newer updated guns and equipment. If you would need any help choosing the RIGHT equipment i would gladly help since i know lots about paintball.

As far as I'm concerned, the player model doesn't have anything to do with lighting. You were cackling at the plan you had for the lighting, remember? And some people don't need 'layman's terms'.

Looks great sir. I just found your SF site today, played several rounds, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You've done a fine piece of work for the Q2 engine, almost as good as Half-Life to the Quake 1 engine. Nonetheless this DPCon thing sounds interesting, I'd love to be in attendance, where can I get some information on it?

I'm pretty sure Half-life was to the Quake 2 engine.
But then again, I hate Half-life. Because i'm weird. Love CS, though.

Nope. I think we've had this discussion before: HL is based off of Quake1. Q2 wasn't even out when they started working on it -- I think it was supposed to compete with Quake2, but valve being the speedy developers they are... ;)

HL uses a combination of Q1 and Q2..
they started work with Q1 and wen Q2 came along... they combind the codes (some how)

LTKTBM uses polygons for water -- this is done in a fragment program. Not using Q2E. It was originally based off of BeefQuake. I wrote the fragment shader program myself.
