Title: I am trying to set up a server
Post by: Dave on September 01, 2004, 01:21:14 PM
I am trying to set up a 24/7 public server, but I am having firewall issues.  Can anyone tell me what ports I need to open to get this working??  Or any other tips would be nice as the documentation is limited.

Thanks

Hey, well first off before you setup a 24/7 server you may wanna relize that unless it is hosted on a t1+ line that it may be quite lagging to the other users. If you do infact have the proper connection type you you have port 27910 port. By 24/7 you mean dedicated right? well in order to get the server up go to Start --> Run then enter "C:/paintball2/paintball2.exe +dedicated 1 +map pbcup +maxclients 8 +exec server.cfg" .

(or wherever you keep pball2)

You will need to open port 27910 (as combat stated) for UDP packets.

You have to set dedicated in the command line, like:

c:\paintball2\paintball2 +set dedicated 1 +set maxclients 16 +exec server.cfg +map midnight

I believe you also have to open port 27901 for console messages.

Edit: I am wrong.
