You should really figure out the basics (ie: how to compile a map) before you try to build an entire map.  Also, you should use the .wal files from the latest BSP pack: http://dpball.com/files/mapmaking/bsp_pb2_build015b.zip

Is it me, or are half of the brushes half way into the ground?

Anyways, looks pretty cool for a first time vinne, I like your path in the fort.

The buildings look pretty cool in design, makes me think of an industrial beach for some reason. That one structure looks like a lifeguard tower and all the textures seem industrial like.
For the ramp/staircase thing I recommend some sort of railings (in another texture so that the whole room isn't the same texture), in intense gameplay it might get hard to go up those ramps without flying off from your speed, and it will look nicer.

Are you sure you're putting them in the right place? You can't just put them anywhere and expect them to load.

ok i dont get it i get to the bsp and everything it says in the freaken box *.pak i type *.map it gives me fogtest.,
sample., and somother crap and it also says plz put disk into DRIVE C:/ WTF
Title: Re: Boot Camp
Post by: TinMan on July 03, 2006, 02:39:46 PM
Fogtest and sample are sample .maps that come with bsp, locate the folder that they are in and put your .map's from WC in there to load them up in bsp, or just change the directory in the .map browser window thingy to where yout WC .maps are.

Is drive C:\ your harddrive? or is it a CD drive? Go to My Computer and see what drive letter your harddrive is.

didnt i read somewhere that some of these programs must be installed to C: ?
Title: Re: Boot Camp

You can install it to another drive, but you have to edit the configuration files.  There's a text file included with BSP that tells you which files to edit.  Open them with notepad or wordpad and replace c:\bsp with wherever you have it installed.

and having C as your disk drive is weird

After seeing this Vinne, it gave me an Idea.
I played a world war 2 game for PS2 and they have a training/boot camp with a really nice layout. I might decide to map that layout with my own touchs of course! but thanks for the idea.

Vinne = Pwning Newbs!
