I was setting up a Paintball server for some friends but I couldn't really remember which maps were which, so I made a quick web interface tonight to browse maps:
Edit: dpresource is no longer online. Check out http://mapsearch.website/dpfiles/ made by Whoa and Toolwut instead.

This uses the map collection from OTB's FTP database and I am not maintaining the list/downloads of maps.
If you want your map included, get it onto OTB's FTP site (http://ftp://otb-server.de/pub/Maps/) and it will appear in the browser within an hour or two.
The screenshots are map thumbnails from the FTP site, made by me and pif years ago. Thumbnails are extracted from the .zips to my server and they are not updated automatically.
-
Nice! Are you BACK? :))
-
Well I'm back insofar as needing to go here to get stuff and whatnot, but I'm pretty terrible at visiting forums regularly, even with my own forums.
-
Looks pretty nice. Good job. Just one thing, could you change the "?" when a mapshot wasn't found to a standard picture instead with something like "PIC NOT FOUND". I think it would look better.
Edit: Oh I see you have a picture for that in your post, but it doesn't appear for me.
-
Fixed that.
Also added something to let you select maps, and then export it into a rotation.txt. Can also import an existing rotation.txt.

Nice work.
-
When you remove your selections the checkboxes are still selected. Maybe you could change that so people don't have to uncheck them.
-
Refreshing should fix that, but yeah, that needs to be rectified.
-
Nice! Looks like OTB needs to remove a bunch of junk maps from their server, though. The screenshot you posted is full of unlit and unvised maps. You should display the maps in proper 4:3 ratio or crop them so the aspect ratio is correct.
-
Eh, I actually don't mind the (availability) of the junk maps that much. Since I found the old BSP parser that I had written for DP Resource, I probably will add controls to filter out unlit/unvised maps automatically.
-
beast. Nice work
-
I thought that I moved unlit and unvised maps to the beta section sometime. Maybe you could add a filter for results with and without beta maps.
-
OK, I just moved the site to its own domain and made it look better. There are filters now, and you can search by author.
Here's jitspoe's maps, for example:

-
Things have been good on my end. How about you?
-
Is it possible to show just unlit maps?

Is it possible to show just unlit maps?
Type unlit:yes in the search box.
-
From the OTB website, how do I download all of them without clicking each one individually? can't i just download the whole maps folder?
-
Go download an FTP program like FileZilla, connect to their FTP site, and then drag the maps to your desktop.
-
then drag the maps to your desktop.
You do mean that dragging the "maps" folder works, and not just dragging each map individually? or can I select all, and then drag?
and FileZilla I'm assuming is a firefox addon?

i think you can, only took the adress if you have win 10, on the tab where you can see the databases and so/Explorer, up where on photo otb server are. (adress like:ftp://www.otb-server.de/pub/ ) then you can copie the files ez to your Computer with normal copieway
-
You can also open it in the windows explorer and copy it like a normal folder.
-
Ah I was using Chrome. If I right clicked the "Maps" folder, it would only let me save the address link. I'll try with explorer.
Edit: I guess I'm not understanding how to copy the whole maps folder. Again, I'm able to click each map and download them individually, but it would be nice to just download the whole folder all at once.
-
sorry upöloaded false pic, now ist right look up, link in adressline at Explorer and push enter then copie the files only to your Computer(on your pc all, not in browser)

Get DownloadThemAll if you have Firefox, works a treat.

Bump.
Does anyone still have the map thumbnail images? I've searched various threads but keep running into dead links. Thanks!
-
ya had to ask the day after the domain expired
-
Lol, really bad timing eh? I assume the server is washed away with the domain or? Let me know if you're in need of a donation to keep it up. Seems like a good cause...
-
ftp://ic3y.de/pball/mappacks/ not sure if thumbnail images includes tho, you have to check it out
-
Saw those but no luck so far, argh.

Hi!
Just posting this here in case:

Our database is directly connected to the dp discord bot. You can upload mapshots, search for maps and add tags in discord. Even get download links.
The website is still a bit experiemental. You can look at map thumbnails and/or topshots (minimaps). It packs all the files the map needs (if the server has them) to a zip and creates a download link for you. We are still working on generating more topshots and mapshots for maps and also adding tags.
