Looks cool so far.  It's nice to see something unique.  Where is he getting the textures from, though?  Hopefully not a copyrighted game or something...  Also, I hope he's using the hr4 directory for those high res textures instead of scaling them down in the editor -- scaled down textures can have a huge impact on r_speeds.

Maybe there are some problems with other browsers.

Now to the map itself: It's looking really great!! Nice job so far. The textures remind me of counter-strike!

The texture are from HL2 but we can use them with a nonlucrative aim.

Even if you use them with a 'nonlucrative aim', you still can't use them as they won't work under the GPL. You can't use copyrighted stuff.

I knew those textures looked too familiar . . . Looks pretty good though . . .

And if I had the stuff to make the textures (I have Photoshop 7, but that is about it.  I think I need the stuff to make the .wal files and junk . . .) I could probably make a few.  Might take me a lil while to do the first few though . . .

And how in the world did you get those textures into a DP editor?  :o

You can't legally redistribute those textures, unfortunately.  Also, the lighting in the second set of shots is way too dark.  The light level in the first set looked good, but on this monitor, half of the screen is black on the other ones.

I'd rather not get any of that kind of attention.  There are still some things about paintball2 that are kind of sketchy (the sound clips, for example).  I'm slowly trying to work all of that out, and I definitely want to make sure anything new that comes around stays 100% legal.  The last thing we need is a bunch of people to start using valves textures on maps in rotation on the public servers then get a nice letter from valves lawyers because somebody thinks they're part of the game.

Hi,

I'm Freud friend who work on this level. I just post to explain me.

I will finish this level with this textures. I play only paintball at work on a local network. So the use of the textures will not be a problem.

If I have time, I will create new textures for a Internet use.

Kinda odd
but nice. Cool color lights.
and you need to double check the hand rails, some of them dont match up. and check lights kinda miss places light texture on the lamp.

i like the map alot, but i know im a major fan on your creations, and im glad to test them out, this would be a nice map, if jits implemtns day/night shifting, because if i say so myself, night looks slick also

Now that I have the structure of the level, I actually re-work on each building. I have too change the sky with one another period of the day (night falling).

I will first finish the buildings before lightning, and after the lightning, I will perhaps work on the textures.

Maybe it could be a bit darker in general.
And please, get rid of the coloured bases. They look really strange.

For the moment we cant give you any beta, just because we use HL² texture but actually we work for change them by our textures, so that take time to do all the textures of the map.
We dont want to use the pball textures because they not adapted to the style of the map.
So be patient...

They won't. Those are copyrighted textures, so the map will need retexturing before it can be released. Also, learn to turn off the caps lock.

Alright people, read the thread. This map could only be released if it were to drop all the textures and use ones that are liscensed under the GPL, or some other liscense that makes them free to distribute, so the map can't be released untill that is done, which might not happen.

Too bad Ubuntu still wouldn't win in a court case against ms even if the two logos were the exact same.

What's wrong with the world today eh.  :-\

Actually, if the logos were EXACTLY the same, I'm sure Ubuntu would win. =P

I never even knew the ubuntu logo was supposed to be people holding hands.  I thought it was just some funky design.

Wow, I just did a google image search for "ubuntu logo", and the first image was not work safe.  More like... u-butt-u.

what if you make your own textures that look like the ones youre already using? you could use those on the lvl and nobody would sue. by the way, who made the textures you are using anyway??
