A 3 inch BMW replica. It's poorly made, but does the job.

I'm looking to get a bigger car, though. Something I can fit in. Can't decide if I want to get a new car (pretty much for the warranty), or go with something used in the $4-5k range.

What are you looking for in a car? Speed, Comfort, Luxury, Looks, Ease of Modifying?

I have had quite a few in my lifetime. I would like to make a suggestion here. Over the years I have had different taste but it always added up to me wanting to have a cool ride. I would spend a small fortune on mods and maintenance only to watch it be flushed down the toilet on resell. I would suggest buying something cheap that doesn't cost an arm and leg to repair but still has that "cool kid" appeal. Since two of the middle aged men who are on here have the same thing I would suggest buying a Jeep YJ. 1988 is a good model. Real cheap and you can replace anything that goes wrong all by yourself. Learn from our mistakes since you won't listen to your parents.

That is sooo true about the Jeep. My son and I are doing a complete engine/tranny rebuild this winter.  This is the perfect vehicle to learn that on as its really hard to screw it up.

Yup.... I'm looking forward to this spring. Going to be putting the V8 350 in and tossing a ford 9inch on the back. If you want to see some great pics go to http://mycolorado.org (http://mycolorado.org) shows a lot of the scenic trails here in the rockies.

I would love to put a bigger motor in mine, but I still want to pass emissions.  I have no idea what the state law is regard remotoring.

Post by: coLa on December 22, 2008, 03:06:14 AM
Hondas do it all the time. I know in Central/North Texas there are emission laws, but south Texas there are none. Lolz... At least not yet.

Well, I finally got rid of my 1998 Chrysler Concorde and got a 2006 Nissan Altima.  It drives pretty smoothly and doesn't look too bad for a 4-door.

Kia? I always thought of him as one of those guys in Korea zipping through the cars on their mopeds with 10000000 egg crates strapped to the back.

My jeep is sitting on the side of the house as we speak. Broke a break line on it and I've been procrastinating too much to fix it.

I've got a lead on a 4.0 head to put on my 4.2.  Plus another lead for a free GM TPI fuel injection setup.

So I've spent the last week cleaning up the shop to make room to roll the YJ in to start work.

Now I just need to find some good factory leafs for the front and read as they are all shot.

baid...  What's with the round head lights? :P

Knack, have you checked any jeep forums? I know there are quite a few people who give the leaf springs away when they put on a suspension lift.

I'm sure you couldn't. My aunt has one too.  One time she was in a parking lot and a cart came flying into the front corner of the car. It smashed the headlight and the bumper and side panel, but she got out and watched the bumper and side panel pop back out on them selves. The only thing she had to replace was the headlight.

My brother has an ion, if you do get hit hard enough, it cracks the plastic body and puts holes in the doors. It looks bad, but other than that, there are no dents, just holes in the front and side door.
