RECOMMENDATIONS
===================
* Your server may not even be running; try connecting to it on this computer: run /connect 127.0.0.1:27900 in console
* Your server's port may not be forwarded; make sure you forward your ports for UDP port 27900 (and make sure it's set to the right computer address)
* Your server's port may be firewalled; make sure you allow port 27900 through your firewall
PLEASE HELP ME ITS CALLED TRILO'S PUB
-
1. Do you have a firewall? If so, disable it and try it again.
2. can you connect to it locally?
3. Got a router? Did you forward the correct ports like the troubleshooter told you to?
-
Actual user IP address: DIFFERENT from provided IP
Are you running the server on a different computer?
-
ok, i have a firewall, its turned off but i still added port 27900 and 27910 on the ports allow list and it stilll doesnt come up. and no im not running the server on a diffrent computer, my home computer. Read about port forwarding.
And your server SHOULD NOT BE USING 27900 FOR PLAYERS TO CONENCT TO!
27900 is only for the heartbeat going back to dplogin.com.
-
that IP there is the dplogin IP
-
How do i find out what router i have?
-
Never mind im a retard lol, ok my router is called Arris but it doesnt come up on that port forwarding website thingy that is listed above. what now?
-
Again im a tard. i found the router on there list. it says Welcome to our guide list for the Arris TM501b. Please select the program you are forwarding ports for from the list below. ummm, what program am i forwarding? Paintball?
-
It's probably not on the list, but they might have quake2 on the list.
-
Ok. I found Quake 2 and im working on setting up the static ip address. The DNS Servers, or name servers, on my computer have diffrent ending numbers while in the demistration, as i would call it, has the same ending numbers but diffrent second to last numbers. Is this bad? i think it is because it said if they were wrong i wouldnt be able to connect to the intenet and when i finished everything, i couldnt connect to he internet. I really dont know if i should be giving out the ip address or not lol, but this is what that little black box says when i typed CMD in the run box........ DNS Servers.............24.92.226.40 and the other one was 24.92.226.41 (Without the wrighting "and the other one was") like i said up there it wouldnt let me connect to the internet, again, what do i do from here? Oh and yes, I did check and see if they were all right and everything the way i wrote them down so please dont ask if i wrote theme down wrong or saw them wrong. Thanks Trilobite

Post the answers to ALL of the questions.
-
ok, i did that, like the port forwarding and i got it to work, is that all i have to do?
-
So what's your server ip and port number?
-
nvm, i lied, i tried doing the name servers by only doing one, but it has to have two and i still cant figure that out.
-
you can only put one if you want
-
oh, well ok then how do i find out what the ummmm, server ip and port numbers are?
-
http://www.ipchicken.com/
The default port is 27910, so unless you chnged that the port will be 27910.
-
i went to ipchicken, it says it is 72.226.242.243 so would my ip addres be 72.226.242.243:27910?
-
yes
Now plug that in to the server troubleshooter ( after you port forward your router) and tell us what it says
-
ok, i did that test thingy that it says way up top again. it says, DP Resource Public Server Troubleshooter

Im really not sure if i did the static ip address right because it never told me just what exactly my static ip address is. is it? if so where does it tell me? Yes my server was running, and the firewall was even off.
-
omg, what EXACTLY do u mean port forwarding. i did the thing it said to do on the port forwarding website and i typed in the addresses into that properties box it tells me to do, so thats port forwarding??!!
-
oh, and 1 mor thing, i have the server box thingy open right now and it says paintball 2 initiallized, but before it said that it was sending a ping to the master server twice, is this a good or bad thing lol?
-
Port forwarding is kinda like opening a door for information to flow in and out of. If the door is shut no information gets out.
if it says "sending heartbeat" that's normal.
Did you try looking up http://www.ipchicken.com/ with the computer you are using for the server? That might be a problem.
-
yah, i did the ipchicken before but i never said what it said under advanced, it says Name Address: cpe-72-226-242-243.rochester.res.rr.com
Remote Port: 1413
Browser: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
sooo....ya, and when i woke up this morning before school, i saw a norton box opened up and it said an ip address of the same exact ip address except the last numbers were 1026 so im gonna try that in the server checker thing. ill post the results later though.

OMFG i feel great i do not know what i did but i got it to come up!!! thanks knack, jitspoe and that other guy!!!! come play on it sometime
