Title: How do I create a Server on Linux Debian?

Hello,
I need help. I want to create server on a Vserver (Linux Debian 4.0 ETCH). How do I do it? I made it like in the tutorial for Linux Servers but it doesn't work. Can somebody pls tell me exactly what to do? ??? ???

Which commands you used for start?

Can you tell us what errors you are getting (if any).  How you are setting it up and trying to start the server?

I dont get some error messages, the server seems to be online but i cant connect to it.
1 server is working but i dont know how i done it^^

What doesn't work?

Does it run?

Can you connect to it locally?

Or is it that others can't see it?

No i cant connect and nobody else, the server isn't shown in the list . But 1 server works already, its shown in the list and everybody can conect but i dont can set up more server

Are you using different port numbers for the two servers?

yes i use different ports.
somebody said to me i have to use .sh files.
Is that right?

The Problem is screen isnt installted on my server ;D cant i do it with nohup?

I believe you *might* be able to, but everyone uses screen.

Screen isn't required, but it makes things a lot easier.  How do you not have screen installed?  I thought it came with pretty much every distro.  apt-get install screen
