You are absolutely correct...
You can spell fine, but don't, and never use punctuation, AND that don't help a bit...correct you are.

If you "want" help then you should "want" to communicate clearly and concisely.

i can spell just fine but i don't want to

Occam's Razor: You actually can't spell and you're a lying 'uneducated person'.

PROVE ME WRONG

lets see here...i see, in world spawn u need to add the reqired files key.  press the little ? for how to use the required file key.  this applys for sound and models.  the grey thing means u dont have the model or the map cant find it

You don't put in leaf02. You put the path to leaf02

Hence "model" "models/path/to/model.skm"

Go to your pball/models folder and find where the .skm file that you want is.

tell me how i would put in it if it was

model flower1.skm
Title: Re: help with model
Post by: sk89q on September 14, 2008, 05:47:32 PM
Say you put flower1.skm in C:\Games\Paintball2\pball\models\plants\flowers\flower1.skm
You'd want to put in:
"model" "models\plants\flowers\flower1.skm"

You might use / instead of \ though... I forget. Read the ?.

Just a note:

Do not use .skm for the model name even if you're using skm files.  It will break the download system and cause the map to crash as the models won't download correctly.

Your entity should look like this:
"model" "models/whatever/whatever.md2"

You should have them in:
Paintball2/pball/models/sk89q
                  and for example/trees/tree5.skm

And in bsp it should look like this

Did it look black when you compiled / fastvised it?
If so, did you make brushes "around" it for the shadows?
If those brushes are too close to the ground the tree will look black, I had that same problem.
As you see from my screenshot, the brush isn't touching the ground - it's lifted about 8 units, you can try that if you want to.

Uhm, could you provide us a screenshot?
Is that problem happening in bsp or when you export?
I think you're missing a file, don't remember which one. Someone else will tell you what to do.

Try checking Paintball2/pball/scripts
Do you have the file "sktrees1"?
I'm not sure if it is the problem but no one else seems to help you so I'll try.

BTW it's with, not wiht :P

Well then the problem is that you don't have the right scripts. Try downloading sk89q's pack again and install it properly.

It was talk like a pirate day.  I was saying you need to use "md2" instead of "skm" for the file extension in the "model" key.
