Title: Bsp...
Post by: Vetrix on June 27, 2008, 07:23:54 PM
Ok, I made a map in BSP, and I tried to export it to test in paintball. But, when I run it, it says it can't find the the file. Any help?

What exactly does it say?  It sounds a bit like the inprogress problem.

Do you have a folder called "inprogress" in your maps folder?
Open your paintball2 folder (It's usually in C:\Games), then the pball folder, then the maps folder.
If you don't see the inprogress folder try making a new one. If it says that there already is a file/folder called inprogress look for a FILE (not folder) called inprogress. If you see that file, delete it and make a folder called inprogress.
Try exporting again.

Should I save my map as .bsp instead of .map? Because most ofl the maps in the inprogress folder have an extension of .bsp.

You have to save and load the map in your mapping programm as .map. If you export the map, bsp should create a .bsp in your inprogress folder.

It's not creating a .bsp file in the folder.

EDIT: No, wait it is, but Paintball still can't find it.

Did you try that?

Yes, I have an inprogress folder!! The file is there, "rampthru.bsp", but when I export it on paintball, paintball can't find it.

Where is your paintball2 installed?  Sounds like you need to edit some batch files to put the map in the correct directory.
