So now that I've made a subforum for completed maps, there needs to be some kind of criteria for a map being "completed". It would be nice if there were some kind of group that would sit down and thoroughly play test each new map and determine if it is acceptable for release or still needs more revision. There are a number of beta maps, but not much feedback on them. What little feedback there is, usually pertains to visuals, and not the game play.

I might be interested in this, seeing that my 'term' with the Committee is coming to a close. Still have to think about it a bit though.
But I like the idea.

Well, the idea would be to give maps some thorough testing with a sufficient number of players - like some good 5v5 matches. I just hate seeing maps that look nice, but never get played because of gameplay faults and maps that are almost really good but have some issues that could have been fixed with sufficient play testing before their release. I don't really see any reason it would need to be private.

i like that idea quite a bit.
Like a map on probation ;]

i like this idea too, but on the play testing part, if the map rotation on the beta testing server could be changed so its always up to date with new betas, then some play testing on these betas could work a little better. Although i did notice you said there isnt always a sufficient number of players, due to the fact most players, if pubbing, tend to go to the GT's or er33t pubs cos they have all the released maps everyone likes on the rotation.

I like it and would be willing to help if accepted.

So how do you think we should go about this? I think one thing that kind of needs to be standardized is acceptable maps for matches.

We should have a way to upload maps on here so only the committee can view them at first before they are released to the public and decide if they are acceptable or not.

I still feel we need new maps to include in the full game install that are "DP Certified"
