Check out "slimy metal plates" here: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/category47-page1.html
Interesting to see Jitspoe's work is on the first page of the buildings category.
-
Cool. Does jits even use that anymore? ;D
-
S8N's is on that same front page, as well.
-
Yeah I saw that, but I didn't know if anyone would recognize it, since it isn't in the HR4/ folder.
-
I wish they'd add shadows in. It's hard to create convincing textures without them.

Yeah the highs and lows aren't clear. Looks good though. Also, edited title...

Did you ever end up buying FF? What about TerraGen? Those are the two I remember you had considered at one time.
-
Blender can do the same thing TarraGen does.
-
Is there a skybox tutorial? Nevermind, it's in that noob-to-pro tutorial you linked me to, thanks. edit again: that tutorial only has information on making a skybox from existing images, where as TerraGen can render images... is there another feature I am overlooking within Blender?

I never said it was a built-in feature. I said it was capable of doing it. :P
I might write a script for it if i ever get around to it.
Edit:
I prefer modeling the terrain, but thats just me.

Bump maps are much easier for creating terrain in my opinion.

I haven't taken the time to learn bump maps to the fullest yet. :-\
